I wanted to see this moive in theatres when it came out, but in my city it never did. By the time it did it was playing in this small local theatre and only on the weekend at night, which I was working so I entirely missed it. I happened to catch this in my hotel room. Amy Adams is always wonderful. She's starting to seem typecasted as a bubbly pretty somewhat naive young woman. Hopefully she can take on new roles that show that she has great talent as an actress. Frances McDormand is hilarious in this movie. I had recently watched her in an old movie named "Friends With Money" which I also loved her in. These two make friends in an unlikely combination, but work well together. McDormand spends the day sorting out Adam's love life and others, and Adam's gives Miss Pettigrew a day of charm, excitement and a makeover. This movie feels like a fairy tale and has such a great ending. Not to mention that most of the main men are very attractive. Lee Pace of "Pushing Daisies" was even hotter with his fake British accent that was very convincing. Not that you need to know this, but I think I'm in love with this 28 yr old whom looks older than he really is. This was a cute comedy and I will certainly be buying it.
