You Don't Mess With the Zohan

To be honest it was in my words "eeeeeeeeeeeh." It didn't suck but it wasn't great either. What I was fiinding too much was all the sexuality... it went a bit too far at some point. I was surprised to see that Robert Smigel had a part in the writing of the screenplay. It made sense after the credits rolled and I thought of his short animations he did for SNL and the themes that the animations covered such as the Middle East, homosexuality, white supremists and "bourgeois" New Yorkers. I could have died with all the humus jokes in the movie. After watching some brilliant comedies, it seems that lately comedic movies are lacking the sarcasm and wit that indie and low budget comedies are producing, or maybe I'm just getting used to the dark comedies that are becoming ever so popular. The ending was really great and positive and set a good example of what we should be doing. The dominant themes throughout the movie is sex, stereotypes, nationality and peace. Everything that is on everyone minds these days. I'm not too sure I could watch this movie again for awhile.
