I remembering reading an article about Clooney playing our favourite facets of him in one person. In a way, I see how that comment is true. But in another way, I thought Clooney was playing the character the way he was supposed to, which happens to be all the Clooney's we like. I do have to say, this movie is a lot sadder than I had expected. It wasn't that I was looking for a specific ending, but this one was disappointing for me. It makes me feel like the rest of my life is going to turn out just as bleek, when I'm looking for a change or are ready for it and have open arms for it, and then it never happening. Anna Kendrick was great in this. She was perfect for the role. It was strange to see her go from a minimal role like her in Twilight and then see her as a co-star to such an A-list actor. I thought the casting of this movie was perfect. The success of a movie also depends on the chemistry and interaction between the characters and the actors who play the characters. Jason Reitman did great directing. He looked slightly miffed that he didn't win more awards at the Globes last Sunday after he won for best screenplay. I really wanted to tell him that his movie was good, but there were better movies than his and he should not think that his movie will get any Oscar noms, because well, I don't think it should get any Oscar noms. Its a story about a man who thinks human contact is vital, yet avoids it in his personal life. A very strange combination in a person who makes a living selling his philosophy on these things.
