Sukiyaki Western Django

This was an offbeat Japanese Western that happened to occur in Nevada I think. It relied heavily on colours and a story about gold which attracted all the gold rushers and the red and white tribes or whatever they were called. Once you get passed the hard Japanese accents, the story is quite interesting. I was slightly confused how Quentin Tarantino was telling a story that happened when he got old and not in his present state which was confusing. I especially was annoyed by how he suddenly was telling the story in a Japanese accent since he's obviously the only white person in the film. I also think they should have cast someone else to play the mute son. I don't know how it is possible for me to be annoyed by a character that never speaks. I'm really not giving this movie much justice. I thought it was fantastic. It was camp at times, but the whole idea was strange so I don't think I'm being harsh at all. Probably my favourite visual effect was one of the people getting shot in the head and red feathers flying into the air instead of blood. Amazing. Really. If you like strange films or Japanese films, I think you just might like it.
