The Women

This felt like it was a remake of a 1939 film. The dialogue and the reactions felt like it was a 1939 film. I do have to say though... the fact that everyone was a woman including extras drove me crazy. I think there was a male waiter... maybe. I understood the concept, but it was not reflecting reality so well. Maybe in 1939 this was empowering, but now it just seems patronizing and overly feminisitic. It was still hard to relate to these women because they had money, success and a reputation. I was wary about seeing Jada Pinkett-Smith has a lesbian, but she was AWESOME. She was probably the best character in the film. It was about friendship, love, power and self-endurance. It was always the older women who were giving advice. There were lots of things I liked about it, but I just didn't care for it. It was just too women-lib for the time or just showing women-lib where we have already have it. It would be interesting to see the exact opposite of this film, except men acting like women. Maybe...
